The making of “Balance”, an Art-O-Mat entry.

It starts with a sheet cut to 2" x 3" and coated with gesso.

The pattern was sketched on to the board.

The paint for the lines was mixed

and pulled into a syringe.

The lines were traced with the paint from the syringe.

Once the lines are dry, the colors can be added.

Yellow and orange were added first.

A touch of orange added to a base of yellow.

Next set of colors added to the palete.

An individual color is mixed for each shape. Yellow and orange are added to the greens to provide variation in colors.

Here's how the artwork looks so far.

Time to add the brown.

Each shape of brown has its own unique color mixed from the paints on the palete.

Time to add in the background.

The blue, black, and white are mixed and added to the remaining white shapes.

Here's the finished artwork!
